ALBANY — Cyclists gathered Wednesday lunch-time in Albany for an Earth Day bicycle parade to celebrate Capital Region institutions who utilize solar energy. The event began near Tivoli Park and ended with refreshments at the pedestrian bridge on Broadway next to the Dormitory Authority. Representatives from CDTA were on hand to demonstrate how to mount a bike onto a bus rack.

This is the third year that students at the Montessori School took part in a portion of the ride. The school is also hosting an open house this Saturday from 11a.m. to 1p.m. The bicycle ride was held to celebrate institutions in Albany with solar panels such as the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany, the Spectrum 8 Theatres, and the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York.
