ALBANY, N.Y. - The public comment period for the Global Companies permit to change what it does at the Port of Albany has been extended.
Due to the great amount of community interest, the public comment period was set to expire this Friday. Global Companies submitted its application to modify its permit to allow it to heat crude oil, residual fuel, and bio-fules at the Port of Albany months ago.
The State DEC will not make a decision about this application until it has reviewed all the issues and heard comments from the community.
The deadline has been extended to September 30.
